Sara Mathilde Øster (1973) is a graduate from University of The Arts London and has had numerous exhibitions in both Denmark and The United Kingdom. Was in 2009 selected for the reputable Spring exhibition at Charlottenborg Kunsthal in Denmark and in the same year for the summer exhibition at Copenhart Gallery. She has since been invited to do solo shows at Thorasminde Kulturhus, Fuglsanghus and Cobra-rummet, Sophienholm. She has executed two sitespecific commissions ”SolarisMontium” for 'Kastanjehaven'  carecenter and “Luxlapis” for the High school, Gladsaxe Gymnasium, and is featured in the book: “101 Kunstnere” (101 Artists).

In United Kingdom she has had solo shows at The London Media Centre, Clapham North Arts Centre and Chelsea College of Art. She has initiated several exhibitions with the group ‘Shoplifters Variety Club’ shown at The Conway Hall and Lauderdale House.


‘Through my practise I examine light, colour, textures, patterns and structures. I am preoccupied with the way our eyes work, the way we see, the physical effect that light and colour has on us, as well as the feelings a piece of work can evoke.
